After an explosive season 9 finale, "Bones" will be back for its tenth season with events skipping four months ahead. Seeley Booth's (David Boreanaz) imprisonment will apparently have a big impact on his marriage to wife and partner Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) as he awaits trial. The family of three might possibly have a new addition, but Booth will reportedly return in the latest season as an "emotionally vulnerable" man.

In the Season 9 finale, Booth shot Delta Force members who attacked his home while in the middle of solving out a case, which landed him in the hospital with a wound and in handcuffs. As Bones return four months after these events, viewers will be seeing Booth still in jail while awaiting trial.

The situation is a difficult one for Booth, says show executive producer Jonathan Collier. Collier had said that Booth's imprisonment will have a very big impact on his marriage to Brennan. Enstarz also quoted Collier, who stated, "Booth has to deal with the legal consequences of where they ended up."

Collier also mentioned that Booth's emotional state was due to  "practical reasons", which could pertain to the couple's house being pelted with bullets from the gunfire, courtesy of several FBI agents, in last season's finale. Booth lost his job in season 9, which could present some issues for the couple as well. Carter Matt added in a report that after the imprisonment, Booth would showing to have some post-traumatic stress disorder, which could be because his faith in the system and patriotism is being put to the test.

As for the rumors that the family of three--Booth, Brennan, and daughter Christine--might be "expanding", executive producer Stephen Nathan agreed that it is possible for the couple to have another child. However, HWHills.com said that nothing is definite yet, as a different couple could end up having the child. Nathan nonetheless said, "Families grow. People have children."

On a lighter note, Lawyer Herald reported that Booth and Brennan will not be splitting up and that there will be no affair that would threaten the relationship. However, with the challenges they are facing in their careers, viewers can expect that the two will have a hard time this season.

Bones' tenth season will debut on Fox on September 25.
