Reports revealed that "Dawson's Creek" alum Kerr Smith is joining the cast of CBS' "Criminal Minds" for its 10th season. Smith is reported to be playing the role of Frank Cowles, a killer with a "weird fetish."

The character is described as an everyday yet creepy man who is an acromotophile, a person who is obsessed in collecting human limbs.

It was also revealed that Jennifer Love Hewitt will also join the cast as Kate Callahan, an FBI undercover agent.

Showrunner Erica Messer expressed her excitement in working with Hewitt. "We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast."

"Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season," Messer added.

The filming for the upcoming season has started and photos from the set are spreading in the Internet. The show's Twitter account revealed a creepy photo to tease the fans and give them a hint of what to expect in the next season.

The photo showed an image of a hacked off leg with realistic stitches on the wounds. The caption reads "Yep, it looks like we're baaaack ;-) #CriminalMinds #1001."

In another tweet, a photo shows two of the show's editors watching what seemed to be an episode of the show. "Getting settled in on the set of #criminalminds EP10x01 Day 3 of 8," the caption reads.

The show's creator and the cast give the fans some ideas about the storyline through their interaction on the net.

AJ Cook who plays the role of Jennifer Jareau recently hinted that the previous season's ending has a significant connection on how the plot goes for the next season.

"Criminal Minds" Season 10 premier will debut on October on CBS.
