Windows Phone owners will be glad to know that after months of waiting, Windows 8.1 is now starting to roll out. Dubbed as Cyan, the 8.1 update will be released over the air to Taiwan, Spain, and Finland first, according to KPopStarZ. However, the report says that midranger phone Lumia 635 will be the first to get the update instead of higher models like the Lumia 520 and the Lumia 525.

Lumia 635 has been in the market for a while now. Owners of the handset can expect the OTA update to be on their devices soon.

The Windows Phone has been Nokia's project for the last four years, but it has not contributed significantly to the market shares of the mobile phone company yet. New features available from 8.1 could change this, especially with the addition of the voice assistant Cortana.

It is time for Nokia to step up its game and have a voice assistant much like IPhone's Siri, Samsung's S Voice, and Google Now. Additional features include a Storyteller app named Creative Studio, improvements on the Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, display controls, and better user experience.

Cyan also boasts of a new notification center, a customizable home screen, and better keypad, as shown in April's BUILD conference. Nokia also announced the new Lumia 930 and Lumia 630 in the BUILD Conference, with Lumia 930 still waiting on a release date. Lumia 630, on the other hand, is already available throughout China and India.

New Windows Phone Lumia 1525 will be released with Windows 8.1, which means that buyers of the phone can start using Cortana. Lumia 1525 has Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and the same display and camera features as Lumia 1520.

Lumia 1525 will be available from T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon.

Cyan has already rolled out in Thailand and India will be seeing the OTA update on the second week of July.
