CW's cult hit "Supernatural" will return in October for its 10th season. Here are some things that you need to know before it begins.

In the season 9 finale, we saw Crowley returning the first blade to Dean's lifeless body. It was then revealed that the elder Winchester had become a demon.

TV Line recaps: "Emotionally battered and physically bruised, the elder Winchester once again died in his brother Sam's arms. Dean, though, is not one to stay on the other side for too long, and before the hour ended, his eyes flew open - completely dark! - as Crowley urged him to "see what I see, feel what I feel." Now, the man who once hunted demons appears to be facing a "new kind of life," as the very thing he regularly killed. Could he possibly handle it in a way that's not self-destructive?"

Another big news is that a new character will reportedly be revealed this upcoming season. Her name is Rowena, "a tough but elegant woman who will stop at nothing to reclaim her power base."

The showrunners have not yet revealed exactly who Rowena is, but reports are saying that they are looking for someone who is Scottish/has a Scottish accent--this could mean that Rowena could have a connection with Crowley, who was once a Scottish man named Fergus McCloud.

"Supernatural" will return to CW on October 7, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT. The season 10 premiere will be entitled "Soul Survivor."

Only 96 days to go (fans have actually set up a countdown page for the10th season) Want a recap? There will be a retrospective special on October 6.
