The sequel to musical comedy "Pitch Perfect" is set to be released on 2015. Here's what we know about the movie so far.

"Pitch Perfect 2" will be directed and co-produced (with Paul Brooks, Max Handelman) by Elizabeth Banks, who will also be playing Gail. The script will be penned by Kay Cannon.

The crew started filming on May this year at the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

The plot for the upcoming movie is yet to be revealed, but what we do know is that stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will be reprising their roles. This time, they will be seniors at Barden University.

Last month, Benji Platt (Benji Applebaum) tweeted a photo captioned "What better way to spend my first day on set for #PitchPerfect2 than by doing a scene with my roomie @SkylarAstin," revealing that the love story between Jesse (Skylar Astin) and Beca is still very much alive.

Joining the cast are Danish actress Birgitte Hjort Sorensen, Hailee Stenifield as Emily, Brittany Snow as Chloe, Alexis Knapp as Stacie, Anna Camp as Aubrey, Adam DeVine as Bumper Allen, and Hana Mae Lee as Lilly.

American a cappella group Pentatonix--the five-person ensemble became an instant favorite after winning NBC's singing competition "The Sing-Off"--will also join the cast, playing a rival group to the Barden Bellas.

Pentatonix will not be playing themselves. Member Mitch Grassi told Entertainment Weekly that they wore "pretty interesting things during filming." "You can definitely tell it's the five of us, but what we're wearing and who we're portraying is definitely not Pentatonix," Grassi added.

"Pitch Perfect 2" will hit theaters on May 15, 2015.
