The Peter Pan movie, entitled "Pan," is set to be released in 2015. Here are the things that we know so far.

The movie, according to IMDB, will be about an orphan spirited way to Neverland. "There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan."

The script has already been listed on Hollywood's 2013 Black List. Warner Bros. also announced last year that the release date would be July 17, 2015.

The cast includes Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, Amanda Seyfried as Mary, Garret Hedlund as Hook, Nonso Anozie as Bishop, Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy, and Levi Miller as Peter Pan.

Jackman, whose last hit movie was "X:Men:Days of Future Past," was cast earlier this year. Warner Bros. Pictures Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution president Sue Kroll said: "There is a reason that Hugh is known and loved the world over. He is uncompromising in his dedication to every role, and we are all thrilled to be working with him again."

The casting of Mara faced some controversy, because Tiger Lily has a Native American descent. According to The Washington Post, there has been an online petition asking Warner Bros. to stop acting white actors to play characters of color (there was even a #NotYourTigerLily hashtag).

The petition, which thousands of people have already signed, said: "This casting choice is particularly shameful for a children's movie. Telling children their role models must all be white is unacceptable."

Actors who had been considered for the role include Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years a Slave") and Adele Exarchopoulos ("Blue is the Warmest Colour"). Indian Country Today Media Network named Mizuo Peck ("Night at the Museum") as a possible candidate because of her Native American ancestry.

"Pan" will be directed by Joe Wright, and written by J.M. Barrie (characters) and Jason Fuchs (screenplay).
