The Game of Thrones Season Finale came and went. Filled with the usual surprises, the Lannisters made sure they made a mark before they left this season. Cersei admitted her affair with Jamie while Tyrion stepped up to his father once and for all. Tyrion Lannister, perhaps the character who got the most spotlight throughout the season, gave the best lines that got many of the audience cheering for his side despite the odds.

  • "I did not do it. I did not kill Joffrey, but I wish that I had. Watching your vicious bastard die gave me more relief than a thousand lying whores!"
  • "I will not give my life for Joffrey's murder and I know I'll get no justice here, so I will let the gods decide my fate. I demand a trial by combat."
  • "Laughing at another person's misery was the only thing that made me feel like everyone else."
  • "Trial by combat, deciding a man's guilt or innocence in the eyes of the gods by having two other men hack each other to pieces. It tells you something about the gods."

Of course, while he may have passed away in the most brutal way possible, a tribute to Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper, is in order. Who will forget that moment he announced his arrival at King's Landing?

"Tell your father I'm here. And tell him the Lannisters aren't the only ones who pay their debts." - Oberyn Martell

Lastly, Game of Thrones will not have its massive following without its trademark plotting and scheming characters - Petyr Baelish, or Little Finger, to be among the most prominent.

"People die at their dinner tables. They die in their beds. They die squatting over their chamber pots. Everybody dies sooner or later. And don't worry about your death. Worry about your life. Take charge of your life for as long as it lasts."
