After raising money for its South Asia expansion, Rocket Internet has now launched comparison shopping website in Thailand, according to TechCrunch.

Tech In Asia cited co-founder Christian Schiller saying: "As the number of online shops is constantly rising, customers need our support when looking for the right deal. But we also support the online shops as we redirect customers to their website and therefore help them to increase their sales."

The German company wants to tap into Thailand's market made up of 66 million residents. Specifically, PricePanda is targeting the country's growing middle class. To do that, it must first take on local market leader Priceza, which has more than 2.5 million monthly active unique visitors from Thailand and Indonesia. PricePanda, on the other hand, has already entered Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand, the report detailed.

In January, PricePanda had closed a $3-million funding round from Tengelmann Group, TechCrunch reported.
