AOL UK has launched its video-on-demand platform AOL On Network today. This premium platform brings together both original and curated content. This is the first time that AOL On has stepped beyond North America, according to TechCrunch.

The newly launched premium video platform distributes over 750,000 premium videos including news, entertainment, technology, and lifestyle categories. The company has partnered with third-party publishers such as Trinity Mirror, TalkTAlk, and TVGuide.co.uk to distribute the content in the UK, the report detailed.

AOL On Network was first launched in April 2012. Later on, the network upgraded its connected TV app which was formerly called AOL HD. In the course of time, native mobile apps were introduced as part of its monetization campaign, according to The Next Web.

As of now, AOL On is available on the Web, but the company will soon launch a UK app for iOS and Android this April, the report added.
