New York-based flight finding app Hitlist flies out of beta to raise $500K seed round

Mobile travel alert app Hitlist has exited the beta phase and is currently raising approximately $500,000 in seed funding, according to TechCrunch.

Hitlist is a mobile app that monitors users' favorite travel destinations and sends out alerts when fare prices drop. The service allows people to register their travel intent, including preferred travel spots and probability of purchasing a ticket. The app also allows airlines to fill in empty seats, the report detailed.

The travel app gives presents users with options among the cheapest fares they can see from their home airport. Using Facebook integration, Hitlist can tell customers if their friends live near a target destination or have traveled there. Price drop notifications are sent via email. The firm collaborates with Skyscanner on its backend so that users are directly led to the site when they are ready to buy a ticket, the report explained.

Hitlist is currently available on both Android and iOS, TechCrunch reported.
