Legal franchise QualitySolicitors received a fresh round of capital from its private equity owner to fund its expansion drive for 2014, according to The Law Society Gazette.

According to the Leicester-based company, it has secured additional investment from Palamon Capital Partners, its majority shareholder. The exact amount received has not been specified, but the Gazette believed it to be a multi-million-pound figure, the report detailed.

President and founder Craig Holt said the new funding will be used to increase the group's cost efficiency and develop new technology for the firm, the report added.

Holt said: "We are also going to add to the network with a small number of firms of the right quality and ethos this year to further strengthen our coverage across the UK."

The company will start a family law-focused marketing campaign this week. QualitySolicitors said its advertising campaign last autumn drove a yearly 40% on its web visits. The strategy also increased its new business leads by 80%, The Law Society Gazette reported.
