New York-based 21st Century Fox Inc inked a multiyear agreement with Deutsche Fussball Liga to bring German Bundesliga soccer to Asian, European and American fans. The deal would start on the 2015-2016 season. It would give News Corp's entertainment business rights to the 306 Bundesliga matches each year. These matches would include the DFL-Supercup and the Bundesliga Relegation Playoffs. The agreement would also allow 21st Century Fox to cover the richest soccer clubs in Germany. This would include Bayern Munich, last season's winner of the European club competition.

21st Century Fox would be bringing the coverage to Asia and the Americas for five years. In Europe, the agreement would last for two years. The exclusive rights to air the games would cover 80 countries, including Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and India. Financial details about the deal were not disclosed.

Business tycoon Rupert Murdoch owns 21st Century Fox. Last year, the Germany league also agreed to give another Murdoch-owned firm, Sky Deutschland, the rights to air the games in Germany.
