Amazon Web Services to Broaden Cloud Computing Services in Singapore

The news was unveiled on Tuesday at the AWS ASEAN Summit in Singapore, where the tech giant showcased several initiatives related to artificial intelligence (AI).

Priscilla Chong, country manager of AWS Singapore, told CNBC that the investment will support the development and expansion of data center capabilities in the Asia-Pacific Singapore region.

The initiative will allow the business to fulfill customers' increasing demand for cloud services and speed up the adoption of AI. Additionally, she said that the investment would have a multiplier impact on Singapore's economy, leading to more cloud usage and growth.

Bloomberg reported that the company will collaborate with the Singaporean government to provide workshops for over a hundred enterprises over the course of two years, which will further assist small firms in using generative AI.

According to Chong, the company has invested in the cloud-based skill sets of more than 400,000 Singaporeans since 2017, and it plans to keep pouring resources into this initiative to boost productivity nationwide.

Tech Giants Have Been Expanding Their Worldwide Footprint
