NPC International announces completed acquisition of 13 Wendy’s restaurants

NPC International Inc is the eighth largest restaurant unit operator in the US. The company is also the biggest Pizza Hut franchisee according to a 2013 review conducted by GE Capital Franchise Finance. NPC International was established in 1962 and operates in 28 states in the country. It holds a total of 1,245 Pizza Hut franchise in the South, Southeast and Midwest areas in the US.

Today, NPC International Inc. has announced completing its acquisition transaction of thirteen Wendy's restaurants. The deal was valued at US$11 million including amounts of working capital. The deal was paid in cash by the company. The newly acquired restaurants will be operated by NPC Quality Burgers Inc, the subsidiary arm of the company. NPC Quality Burgers currently operates 35 Wendy's restaurants in two states.

Wendy's restaurant was established in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio. It is the world's biggest fastfood chain, with stores operating in more than 6,000 locations. About 77% of Wendy's restaurants are franchised, with majority of its stores operating in North America.
