Former Ron DeSantis Wall Street Fundraiser Omeed Malik to Support Donald Trump's Candidacy

In an interview with CNBC, veteran Wall Street executive Omeed Malik expressed his commitment to use his resources and network to support Donald Trump's candidacy as he cited his dissatisfaction with what he perceives as government overreach during the COVID-19 pandemic as a factor in his political realignment and his moving to Florida.

Having previously identified as a Democrat and maintained a bipartisan donation record, Malik told CNBC that it was what he deemed the "weaponization of regulatory and legal systems" that drew him to the former president like many other Trump voters.

Ventures of Former Ron DeSantis Wall Street Fundraiser Omeed Malik

According to Omeed Malik, the COVID-19 pandemic also inspired him to pursue alternative ventures. With his other firm, 1789 Capital, backing ventures like Tucker Carlson's media company and developing the conservative-oriented platform PublicSquare, Malik reportedly seeks to help make a sort of parallel economy that attracts more conservative consumers.

PublicSquare is a conservative shopping app meant to rival Amazon. Now, Malik's focus is turning to creating a marked impact on the upcoming presidential election by mobilizing financial support for Donald Trump's campaign.

He intended to replicate the fundraising success he achieved for Ron DeSantis' gubernatorial campaign in 2022. Malik has raised $3 million for DeSantis' 2022 gubernatorial campaign.
