HTC One M8 under Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular, and T-Mobile is expected to receive the newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade soon. New features and some tweaks are set to arrive in the said handset once it receives Google's latest mobile operating system.

According to Android Standard, HTC previously announced that it will upgrade the One M8 flagship to the Android 6.0 OS. It further stated that the company will rollout Marshmallow update along with the Sense 7 UI. The HTC One M8 users will see major changes user interface when Android 6.0 update and the Sense 7 UI make its way to the smartphone.

Previously, HTC made a 90-day promise to rollout Android Lollipop to the One M8 but the release was delayed by a few days, but this time the company may release Marshmallow to the device on time. The Taiwanese tech giant usually takes about 90 days to launch updates to its flagships after Google release them. Based on tech analysts, locked editions of One M8 may get the Android Marshmallow this month or the beginning of 2016.

Furthermore, Blorge cited some of the new features that Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings to the One M8 handsets. One of which is the Doze Mode, a new setting that puts the device into a deep sleep when its unused to increase the battery life. Another is Android Pay, a feature that will enable users to make purchases without even needing to launch another application.

The Android 6.0 also brings the Now on Tap wherein Google Now gets a better function. By pressing and holding the Home button, users will see Google Now and information based on the current status or activity. The Marshmallow update also comes with other features such as Chrome custom tab, better app links, smarter app permissions and more.

Aside from HTC One M8, Gospel Herald reported other HTC handsets that are eligible for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update include the HTC One M9+, HTC One E9+, HTC One E9, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 Eye, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820, and HTC One Desire 816.

Meanwhile, since there are no exact release dates for when Android 6.0 is going to come to other phones, owners are encouraged to check their "Settings" menu to see if there is an OTA (Over the Air) update available for their device.
