‘One Piece Film: Gold’ Updates, Spoilers: July 2016 Release date confirmed; Mysterious new character teased

'One Piece Film: Gold' is an upcoming animated film in the One Piece series confirmed to be released on July next year. Advanced tickets will be available for purchase by December 18. Meanwhile, a new mysterious character's design has been recently revealed.

According to Anime News Network, the upcoming big-screen animated film is slated to premiere in theaters next year. Not much is known about the 13th feature in the series however, the latest tease involves a new mystery character illustrated by creator Eiichiro Oda himself. The character design was revealed on the second 2016 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

Oda will serve as the film's executive producer and will work together with director Hiroaki Miyamoto. It was reported that Oda was also the executive producer for the preceding film One Piece Film Z, which opened last December 2012. Japanese novelist Tsutomu Kuroiwa is serving as script writer and will be his first anime-related work.

Another article by Crunchy Roll stated that 'One Piece Film: Gold' will be Miyamoto's directorial debut on the silver screen. He already worked as the third series director of the television anime from episode 352 through episode 679.

It was reported by Fandom Post that the upcoming film is scheduled for release on July 23, 2016 and that advance tickets will be available by December 18 of this year. Upon purchase of advance tickets, fans will be treated to a clear file with a "Kintaro Luffy" character design.

The main voice actors making up the cast include Mayumi Tanaka as Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico, Ikue Otani as Chopper, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji and Kazuki Yao as Franky.

'One Piece Film: Gold' is an upcoming animated full-feature film helmed by Hiroaki Miyamoto in his directorial debut. It will be based on the characters and story of original creator Eiichiro Oda. The movie's tagline is "That is The Power to Rule The World."
