Motorola has finally confirmed the official release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to Moto X Pure Edition units of Verizon Wireless via over-the-air update. The brand confirmed that the upgrade will come in a matter of weeks.

Moto X Pure Edition smartphones of Verizon are bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update very soon, as David Schuster, Motorola's senior director for software product management, announced on Google+ the software plans of his company. Aside from Verizon, Schuster also confirmed ties with Sprint and US Cellular.

Motorola has just finished doing soak test last week for Moto X Pure Edition and it was unsurprisingly quick as the usual run for the manufacturer. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow test began in Brazil with Moto X Play and in India with Moto X Force.

The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has not yet revealed any specific features native to Motorola to be incorporated with Marshmallow unlike brands like Samsung, HTC and Sony. However, Marshmallow is still on its way to give a good round for the device.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in popular features like Doze, Now on Tap, simpler volume controls, smarter app permissions, redesigned app drawer, better app links, and many more.

In a posted article on Motorola's web site updated last December 8, it underscores the primary aim of the brand, to make the software the embodiment of 'less is more' approach. Accordingly, Motorola is in the zone removing bloatware and skins as it aims on promoting "meaningful exchanges" between the device and the owner.

Notable additions are the simpler volume controls and notifications that can respond even if the device is sleeping.

Motorola particularly mentioned that it desires to live up to the expectations of the world towards them of having the "most personal and responsive phones." The brand said that their phones are built on pure Android with a few Moto enhancements to improve overall functionality.
