Fans of the Tekken fighting games franchise are met with unsurprising disappointment after the PlayStation Experience 2015 came and went with a lack of news about the upcoming Tekken 7. But aside from this, the rumors of VR compatibility grow more rampant despite the lack of outright confirmations of such.

On December 3, 2015, game director Katsuhiro Harada replied to a fan asking if there was going to be any news with a simple "I think not this time." on his Twitter account. Sure enough, Namco did not make any major announcements that day regarding the awaited 7th installment of the Tekken series. This was met with disappointment from impatient fans who wish to see at least some content during the event. This is because Tekken 7 is shaping up to be a major game in the series, as it was announced last year that it will encompass the final episode of the Mishima Clan saga.

It's speculated that Tekken 7 will be compatible with the PlayStation VR, since Unreal Engine 4 is being used to create the game, and according to Vine Report, Harada released a statement in his Twitter account saying that they're "Working on new graphics." Aside from this, the latest information shared regarding the development of Tekken 7 was revealed during the Paris Games Week in October where it was confirmed that it will be released for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox one consoles. Harada shared that the game, when release, will be on its most improved and complete form. According to CrossMap, on November 30, Harada revealed on Twitter that he is negotiating with Sony to allow Tekken Tunes feature to be added in the full game.

Tekken 7 is speculated to be released sometime in 2016 and will presumably be available both on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. A limited arcade version was released earlier this March in Japan and selected areas of North America, which represents the unfinished beta of what will be released next year.
