The guessing game on who will be the next DLC characters coming to Mortal Kombat X is finally over for fans as game developer NetherRealm Studios has officially revealed not just one but all of four brutal fighters to join the roster via Kombat Pack 2 next year.

As promised by game dierctor Ed Boon earlier, these pieces of information had been announced in a trailer for Mortal Kombat X upcoming Kombat Pack 2 at the recently concluded Game Awards 2015. The said sneak peek provided a quick glimpse at the four new DLC characters namely,  Texas Chain Massacre's Leatherface, Alien's Xenomorph, the drunken fist master Bo Rai Cho and Tri-Borg who is a combination of Cyrax, Sektor, and Robot Smoke, reports VG247.

Bo Rai Cho already had a cameo in Mortal Kombat X main campaign while Cyrax, Sekter and Robot Smoke have all been rolled into one called Tri-Borg who is asssumed to have one variation dedicated to each character. The exact launch date, however, has not yet been confirmed except that it will launch in 2016.

Meanwhile, series creator Ed Boon has also dished more details on the characters who could have made it as the next Mortal Kombat X DLC but didn't work out in the end. In an interview with IGN, Boon shared that the dev team had a wide array of potential kombatants including The Terminator and Michael Myers from Halloween.

"For various reasons--whether it wasn't a match, or we just couldn't come to terms with it--they didn't happen. We're always exploring a lot more than we actually end up doing. For instance: Michael Meyers from the Halloween franchise," Boon said. "We talked about that at one point but it just never kind of panned out."

When asked if MKX fans might get a story-based DLC in the near future, Boon responded, "We've talked about it. It's a lot of data, a lot of content, but that's absolutely part of a long-term plan. People really tend to love our story modes, so, to be able to give them new content is always something we're hoping to work out."

Kombat Pack 2 is the second expansion for Mortal Kombat X set to arrive sometime in 2016. The first set of DLC characters included Jason Voorhees, Predator, Tanya, and Tremor.
