Good news arrives for Longmire followers as the modern day cowboy Longmire is renewed for Season 5 and will continue airing on Netflix. In addition, Sheriff Walt Longmire and Criminal Minds crossover is bound for Season 5.

The critically acclaimed television action series Longmire has been renewed by its adoptive network Netflix for fifth season. According to MNR Daily, the unrestricted regulation on online streaming suggests a darker and more violent Season 5 which is just suitable to the nature of Longmire.

Longmire is based on the mystery novel entitled Walt Longmire Mysteries written by best-selling author Craig Johnson. Longmire is the story who moved on from his wife's death and dedicated his life on investigating and solving major crimes on his on arbitration.

Enstarz reported an interview on The Tavis Smiley Show with Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Henry Standing Bear on Longmire, the extended airtime of Longmire on Netflix has provided characters to grow right in front of the viewers' eyes. Originally, former network A&E granted the show with 42 minutes of airtime, however Netflix extended it with another 20 minutes in total of more than hour. The actor also said Netflix is the perfect home for Longmire, more so, on its Season 5.

With the lack of details on Longmire Season 5, speculations of potential crossover with another American police procedural television series Criminal Minds emerges in the internet. Carter Matt opened a hypothetical crossover between the two series as the two were the only series consistent to each other. However, it is indicated that the two are housed by different studios and while both shows focus on solving cases, Criminal Minds take on psychopath cases while Longmire crimes are loosely based on emotional motives.

Robert Taylor who plays Sheriff Walt Longmire, Lou Diamond Phillips, Katee Sackhoff (Victoria 'Vic' Moretti), and Ally Walker (Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan), will return on Longmire Season 5 set in September 2016.
