After the enormous success of the previous Mission: Impossible film, Paramount Pictures will be teaming up with Skydance for the latest "Mission: Impossible 6" movie project. However, the studios are hoping to work with Christopher McQuarrie again.

According to the Variety, the writer/director will be returning as the scriptwriter and he is also likely to helm the "Mission: Impossible 6" movie. Although the studio and the representatives for the filmmaker refused to give an official statement, the source says the negotiation is on its way to sealing the deal.

Recently, the filmmaker hinted that he could return for the "Mission: Impossible 6" movie project. According to the Empire, it sounded like he was at that time considering the idea. "I know that that's a bigger conversation we've only flirted with, so who knows?" he said.

And when someone asked him if he has an idea on what he will plot for the storyline, he said he has "been thinking about it ever since, and I've got a secret little list that may or may not happen. We have an idea, and it doesn't require low Earth orbit. Let's put it this way: There are bigger stunts without more altitude."

Furthermore, the Collider insisted that it would be a perfect fit if ever McQuarrie returns for the "Mission: Impossible 6" movie. Considering the financial success of his movie which grossed over $682.3 million worldwide, he also as a good working relationship with the lead actor Tom Cruise.

Rebecca Ferguson might also be reprising her role as Ilsa Faust. But the actress has not confirmed her appearance for the "Mission: Impossible 6" yet. Moreover, while Cruise is still filming for his other projects, the upcoming film will somehow undergo some preparations and pre-production.

If ever McQuarrie seals the deal, it will be the first time for the movie series to have a director to direct more than one installment. Sources say the studio plans to start the "Mission: Impossible 6" movie production on August next year as they wanted to proceed to the next level quickly.
