Apple is reportedly working on a new 4-inch iPhone. Rumor has it that this latest iPhone offering is based on the iPhone 5s with sixth-generation iPod Touch features. It will also be allegedly called as iPhone 6c if it comes into reality.

After the successful release of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the Cupertino-based tech giant is rumored to unveil a yet another addition to its iPhone lineup. According to Mac World, this new 4-inch iPhone is the successor of the 5c. It could be smaller than the iPhone 6s, but with the same metallic finish.

The speculated new iPhone with 4-inch display is believed to use A8 processor and 14/16nm FiFET chips, which are manufactured by Samsung and TSMC. It is also expected to support Bluetooth 4.1 wireless standards and 802.11ac WiFi as well as sport a more enhanced FaceTime HD camera with f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, it will also feature the 3D Touch technology that is seen in the latest iPhone generations.

As reported by Mac Otakara, a reliable Japanese website, Apple has started the production of the new iPhone and it could be shipped in the next few months. It is also said to be launched in the second half of 2016, instead of this coming holiday, as per Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI analyst.

In terms of its retail pricing, the new 4-inch iPhone is expected to come with a budget-friendly price. However, there is nothing more details and information revealed about this rumored offering from the tech giant.

On the whole, Apple is gearing up to launch another innovative smartphone for everyone. Though the company is yet to confirm all these speculations, all Apple users and spectators should wait patiently for its official announcement regarding the device's release date and availability. Hence, this will absolutely become a hit in the smartphone market once again.
