Netflix's Daredevil season 2 will premiere in 2016 and reports speculate new villains will appear to challenge Hell's Kitchen. Reported by RealtyToday, the focus on Daredevil season 2 will be on Matt Murdock. Elektra, played by Elodie Yung and The Punisher, played by former The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal will appear as the latest villains.

Elektra used to be Matt's girlfriend and fans will get to be informed see Matt and Elektra's college life as a flashback in the series. According to the comic book, Elektra ended her relationship with Matt when she chose to leave New York after the death of her father and worked as an assassin under The Hand. Some sources then hypothesized that their past affair will have a big impact on their roles and a possible alliance may be formed between Matt and Elektra rather than as bitter rivals.

The Hand is a ninja organization which will cause trouble in Hell's Kitchen, according to an article on Realty Today. On the other hand, The Chaste is another organization that is said to compete with The Hand and will also appear in season 2. Crossmap also gave a sneak peek about Elektra Natchios aside from being an old acquaintance of Matt. From Marvel's comics, Elektra is an iconic female heroin who was known as the villain who has changed sides. Her primary ability is a broad insight of martial arts weaponry. Her weapon of choice is the Okinawan sai, and she has learned her ancient martial arts in China, Japan and Siam.

As for The Punisher story based from the comics, he is "a martial arts master and a US military veteran" with profound expertise in a variety of weapons and guerrilla warfare as reported by CheatSheet. Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher also aims to clean up New York's Hell's Kitchen same as Daredevil, but the main difference between them is that The Punisher will do and use whatever means necessary to complete the task no matter how destructive it is. Rumors speculate that there may be some crossover with two upcoming shows as fans may have less than six months to wait for the premier of Daredevil season 2. Daredevil is said to air on the 15th of April, 2016 on Netflix.
