Following the recent release of 2 NBA 2K16 patches to fix bugs, 2K has announced that the newest Patch 3 is arriving within the next two weeks on Xbox One and PS4 to address more gameplay issues found in this hugely popular Basketball sim title. Also, the developer has confirmed that the development of NBA 2K17 has begun.

Operation Sports reports that the NBA 2K16 third update is already handed over to Sony and Microsoft and it is expected to roll out right after it which typically takes around 10 to 14 days. There are no no patch notes have been released as of this time, although, game director Mike Wang took time to respond to fan questions regarding the gameplay issues which will be likely addressed in the latest update.

One of the queries raised to Wang was whether there will be fixes provided for the blocks are included. He replied, "We're just nerfing poorly rated shot blockers so guys like JJ Redick aren't throwing shots like Lebron... Blocks are being addressed in Patch 3."

In addition, Wang also talked about the team's effort to make 'significant gameplay fixes' for soon to be released update but he also pointed out that not all of the time can be provided now for NBA 2K16 due to the fact that the development for NBA 2K17 has been initiated, Design & Trend wrote.

"We've made a number of significant gameplay fixes for this 3rd patch and my time has been swamped trying to test and balance gameplay before it goes out the door, while also starting new designs and feature work on '2K17.' So as much as I'd love to mess with you guys by tweaking the game every day, that's simply not a good use of time," he shared.

Wang also answered to a fan who questioned as to the contested shots at the rim where he said, "The change I made only impacts contact shots. Across the board, you should see those drop less. But you can tell by the animation, if the collision looks heavy (defender noticeably knocking the shooter off balance for example), the shot % gets dropped much lower than if the collision looks light (shooter is getting hit by the defender but his layup looks relatively undisturbed)."

NBA 2K16 was released September 29, 2015 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC platforms. A mobile version for iOS and Android is also made available. Stay tuned for news and updates on the soon-to-be released Patch 3.
