Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on T-Mobile is set to test Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. As the phablet device presently in development phase, testing is expected to come in November.

T-Mobile was the first major mobile carrier in the US to reveal its plans for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is one of its priority phones. There have been no official confirmation from the carrier if the official release will come in January, what is certain for now is that it will be the testing the new build before 2015 ends.

Testing is undertaken to ensure best performance of Marshmallow through a certification process. If deemed successful, T-Mobile will begin to roll out the final version. However, exact date has not been outlined.

T-Mobile units of Galaxy Note 4 have build number SM-N910T, all of which are still running on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop version. It remains uncertain if the telecom company has plans to release the final Lollipop update.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow software brings in prime updates in apps, security, web experience, user interface and so many more. Two of its new offerings include the improved cut, copy and paste option, more efficient app backup, and better Chrome browser.

With Lollipop, the cut, copy and paste option brings users on top of the screen to search and decode the cut, copy and paste buttons. With Marshmallow, this feature will float right on top of the selected texts. The same method is employed in iOS and Windows mobile OS.

Chrome browser is another app on the block. Its older version will leave off the app when loading slowly. With custom tabs, it allows the feature to preload web content before directing the user to an in-app Chrome tab for a smoother experience.

App backup and restore is another enhancement. Sustaining preconceived settings, apps, etc. can be transferred to a new phone without having to download new apps or setup the phone anew. Use the restore option to bring it in to the new device.
