The much awaited crossover fighting game "Tekken X Street Fighter" from Bandai Namco and Capcom may be released on 2016. However, the game will be exclusive for next generation consoles and PC only.

Vine Report said that Katsuhiro Harada, who leads the development of the title, may be hitting 2016 to release the game. While there is still no specific date as of the moment, the Japanese game director together with the team behind the game is said to be working hard for its completion.

Harada had explained that they have decided to push back the launch on a later schedule, said Famitsu. "It's very difficult to talk about. Obviously, I had originally planned to release it much earlier than we're currently looking at," he said.

Perhaps the main reason for the delay is because of the efforts given some of their upcoming games like "Pokken Tournament" and "Tekken 7." Uber Gizmo believes that a separate spotlight should be given particularly to Tekken X Street Fighter since the game has long been awaited by many fans.

For those who think if the game is still in existence, Harada said, "I've been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we're at a pretty far stage into its development. It might seem like we haven't started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago and we've already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems."

Initially unveiled in San Diego during thee 2010 Comic Con, the iteration will have characters like Ryu and Jim Kazama which were also featured in the first series of advertisements.

The game was previously expected on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Some fans are not so happy that Tekken X Street Fighter will only be available for PC and next generation consoles on 2016.
