The largest community-based traffic app, Waze, had updated its features after three years. As Google had bought the app, the company said it will soon roll out on Android devices too.

A Google subsidiary has started a carpooling program Monday in Tel Aviv. Israel-based mapping and navigation provider Waze, which was acquired by the Internet giant in 2013, will handle the project.

According to sources, Google voluntarily complied with the initial inquiry of the Federal Trade Commission on its Waze acquisition earlier this month although it has not yet reached a level of investigation

On Sunday, Google was reported to be in close discussion to acquire Waze for US$1.3 billion.

Google may find itself in antiregulatory waters should it push its bid for Waze.
