Subaru has initiated a large-scale recall due to an air bag issue, impacting a significant number of vehicles.

Subaru sold 526,401 units through November this year, surpassing its 2014 milestone record 513,693 unit sales.

Toyota decides to drop Takata as their airbag supplier last week. Previously, other automakers have ditched Takata as their airbag suppliers as well. This gives a devastating blow to Takata, whose shares drop 25% after series of incidents related to airbags defect.

Fuji Heavy Industries (7270.T), the maker of Subaru brand cars and SUVs, has scrapped a plan to shift production of the new XV Crosstrek to its U.S. plant and will instead make the SUV in Japan, a source familiar with the company's production plans said.
