Palo Alto, US-based software-focused venture capital firm Merus Capital formed a special Merus Capital Opporunity Fund just after it closed its second fund at $43 million to support the late-stage development of San Francisco-based ad-tech firm AdRoll.

Merus Capital received a $50 million funding round referred to as 4.0x net for two new funds including Merus Capital Opportunity Fund and Merus Capital II.
AdRoll has taken in USD70 million Series C funding round led by Foundation Capital and other new and existing investors including Institutional Venture Partners, Glenmede, Northgate Capital, Performance Equity, Peter Thiel, Merus Capital and Accel Partners.
