Anbang Insurance Group Co. Ltd., a China-based leading global insurance group, has agreed to buy U.S. annuities and life insurance provider Fidelity & Guaranty Life (FGL) for about $1.57 billion in cash.

Fidelity and Guaranty Life has raised $165.75 million in its New York initial public offering. The Harbinger-backed insurer sold 9.75 million shares priced at $17 per share.

Fidelity & Guaranty Life had sought to raise USD1 billion through an initial public offering said people involved in the planning process.
