German tyre and car parts maker Continental AG (CONG.DE) is looking for an acquisition in the industrial sector, possibly in Asia, and could spend up to 2 billion euros ($2.54 billion), its finance chief told a German newspaper.

Schaeffler AG said in a statement that the sale of its combined 4% stake in Continental AG with holding company Schaeffler Verwaltungs GmbH would be used to repay borrowings made to takeover Continental.
Driverless vehicles as well as the data transfer between cars are on top of the agenda for the partnership between Continental AG and IBM.
