'Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1' actor Josh Brolin admits that playing the ultimate villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is one the best decisions of his life. It was also revealed that Phase Three in the MCU will be about all heroes trying to defeat him.

According to Collider, Brolin will reprise his role as the big bad supervillain Thanos and he is both nervous and excited to take up such an iconic role in the MCU. He said, "It's great. It's actually great and it's one of those decisions where when I made the decision, it wasn't a difficult decision. Because Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito are so smart at using Benny [Del Toro] for Guardians of the Galaxy as The Collector, and I thought it was so good. That kind of thing. It's like, "Yes, I absolutely want to do this."

The Mad Titan first appeared on the big-screen during a mid-credits scene on 'The Avengers' although it was stuntman Damion Poitier behind the character. According to Cinema Blend, it was only in 2014's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' that Brolin took over the role as the ultimate dark lord. Thanos' third appearance was in another mid-credits scene for the recent 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

The Marvel comic books portrayed Thanos as the most powerful warlord ruling over a distant portion of space. He commands an army of cybernetic aliens called the Chitauri and created alliances with several villains including Loki and Ronan the Accuser. He is power hungry and is on the ultimate quest to gather all Infinity Stones to control all of existence in the known universe.

In another article by Coming Soon, it was reported that the 47-year old actor revealed that his villain's mission to gather all six Infinity Stones to wield the most powerful force in the universe in Phase Three would prompt all heroes to do battle against him. He said, "It's Thanos against everyone." In addition, directors Joe and Anthony Russo explained that the main purpose of the 'Avengers: Infinity War' installment would be to highlight the "ten years of cumulative storytelling" in the MCU.

'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' 'is an upcoming superhero film directed by the Russo brothers and produced by Marvel president Kevin Feige. The first part in the back-to-back installation will be the sixth film in MCU's Phase Three. It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 4, 2018.
