Andrew Bartlow, founder of People Leader Accelerator, has made it his personal mission to support the success of other Human Resources (HR) professionals. To meet this aim, his application-only executive development program is providing HR leaders with the content, context, and community to address the most pressing worker recruitment and retention issues of today's world.

Sparked by the pandemic, the Great Resignation saw almost 50 million workers leave their jobs in 2021, setting a new record for monthly resignations. The impact of this new approach to employment continues to spill over into 2022, with 44% of current employees describing themselves as 'job seekers'.

This is putting an unprecedented level of pressure on HR teams, with nearly half of all HR teams outlining that employee retention and turnover is the most significant challenge they currently face. The People Leader Accelerator program is geared towards providing HR leaders with curated professional resources, actionable advice, and a tight-knit peer community to identify the best methods that HR teams can employ at their organizations in order to avoid being added to the Great Resignation's lengthening list of victims.

People Leader Accelerator guides decision makers towards clarity and authenticity, and encourages them to place these core principles at the heart of all management practices. Bartlow emphasizes that HR teams should develop a clear employment value proposition (EVP), which will be compelling enough to attract workers to leave their current employer, and powerful enough to retain valued employees over the long-term.

"To attract and retain workers in this highly competitive environment, organizations need to determine what things are truly differentiating about their employment experience. Successful organizations will implement and publicize management practices that align with their unique brand. Ultimately, you can't be everything to everyone - you have to make some choices. Teaching the importance of prioritization is a key part of our work at People Leader Accelerator, as HR leaders can otherwise find themselves drowning in an endless number of initiatives that aren't targeted in the right direction. We help them decide which 3 things to move a mile, rather than trying to move 30 things each an inch", underlines Bartlow.

Graduates of the People Leader Accelerator program have had tremendous success applying these principles. For example, an alum who leads the HR function at a hospitality business with several thousand employees worked to address their employee retention rates. She eliminated several surface-level perks and programs, and instead engaged its employees in fun, hands-on experiences with friends and coworkers. This aligned more closely with the company's brand, and as a result, helped employees to establish a stronger connection with the organization.

A clear and compelling EVP is particularly valuable in light of reports that only a quarter of employees feel connected to their company's overarching mission. Furthermore, 70% of employees state that their sense of purpose is defined by their work. By clarifying priorities and implementing HR strategies so that they get to the roots of these factors, HR leaders can not only bolster worker morale, but directly contribute to the bottom line financial results. It is estimated that, by 2030, the US will lose $430 billion per year due to low levels of talent retention, while it has been demonstrated that a higher retention rate can produce up to four-times higher profits
