A non-cancerous condition where a scar tissue is developed on a penis, which can curve a men's penis. The disease can cause serious erection problems and inability to have intercourse.

Symptoms:

  • 1 to 8% of men aged, about 40 to 70 years can suffer from peyronie's disease, and the symptoms include:

  • Painful erection or sexual intercourse or inability to have sexual intercourse.

  • Peyronie's disease shortens the penis or curve it.

  • Your penis might bend to one side or might curve in an upward or downward direction.

  • High blood pressure, anxiety, stress, or diabetes can be a cause of the disease.

  • Most of the time, men report erectile dysfunction before their body shows the symptoms of peyronie's disease.

  • You can feel a hard lump in the penis.

Treatment:

This disease is treatable, and if you are suffering from this disease, here are some treatment options available:

Medication:

For peyronie's disease treatment, your doctor will recommend medicines like Xiaflex, Oral Verapamil, or Infertion injections. If you are experiencing more penis curvature or pain, your doctor will inject drugs into your penis.

Lifestyle changing:

Peyronie's disease may go away on its own. And if your symptoms are not severe, your doctor will suggest some simple lifestyle changes, like, to quit smoking, exercise regularly, no more drugs or reduce alcohol consumption. A lifestyle change may reduce the risk of peyronie's disease.

Iontophoresis:

Iontophoresis is a technique in which medicines are injected in the skin through weak electric current shock. Patients are given penile traction therapy and shock wave therapy to treat peyronie's disease.

Natural Remedies:

Most people try to eat food with Vitamin E or take vitamin E supplements to cure peyronie's disease naturally. However, there is not much research on remedies for peyronie's disease treatment.

Surgery:

Surgery is the last option for peyronie's treatment, and most doctors wait for at least one year before they perform surgery. Surgery will help in the shortening of unaffected side, penile prosthesis, or in lengthening the scar tissue side.
