Warner Bros. is launching a huge Mortal Kombat X eSports tournament that is to kick start this month with pot money of only $500,000.  The program will include the third season of ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League gather the best players around the world and compete against each other beginning on April 3rd. By June 12, the top sixteen players will compete in front of a live audience with the final eight finalists playing for a portion ($200,000) of the prize pot.

On April 3, the best players around the world will compete with each other for the elimination round and by June 12, the eight finalists will vie for a portion of the prize of $200,000.  This is so because Warner Bros. will also hold tournaments across North America, Latin America, Europe and the Russian Commonwealth at the same time, Ubergizmo reports.

For those who are not precisely ready to compete against pros may still win money from the Challenger Cup's online matches for PS4 and Xbox One gamers, to start on the second of April, as reported by Engadget.

The tournament will take place weekly until the end of June with live streaming for the monthly finals.  Warner Bros. and Netherrealm Studios will keep supporting the tournament with contributions and sponsorships to prize pool funding, according to report from VG247.

For those who bought the Blue Steel Sub-Zero or the currently released character skin Krimson Ermac through the Playstation Store or Xbox Marketplace will be contributing right on the spot to the Mortal Kombat X tournament prize money, since part of the process goes added to the pool.
