PhiSix Fashion Labs, a computer graphics firm in the Bay Area, has been purchased by e-commerce giant eBay to allow online customers to fit clothes virtually before buying them, VentureBeat reported.

From the viewpoint of venture capital, the real victors of the recently-announced acquisition of WhatsApp by Facebook are Sequoia Capital and Partner Jim Goetz, TechCrunch reported.

Facebook will be buying WhatsApp in a cash and stock deal worth $16 billion. The messaging giant will also be retaining its brand and will function as an independent unit, TechCrunch reported.

Japan-based Sumitomo Corp agreed to acquire Australia-based Emerald Agribusiness Group Pty. The purchase allowed the Japanese trading firm to control the storage facilities and export terminal of Emerald, Bloomberg reported.

Novra Technologies Inc said it has inked term sheets to purchase Wegener Corporation and Westport Research Associates. Terms of the deals were not disclosed in the statement about the acquisition.

Amazon has bought Double Helix Games, a gaming studio based in Irvine, California created from the merger of The Collective Inc and Shiny Entertainment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, TechCrunch reported.

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States or Cfius is expected to thoroughly scrutinize the $2.9 billion acquisition of Motorola's handset business by Chinese technology firm Lenovo.
