The new episode of "Modern Family" titled, "The Verdict," seems to be a family day for the Dunphys with Phile joining Luke and Manny in a community service class, while Claire brings Alex and Haley in her office for "Bring Your Daughter to Work Day."

However, Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil's (Ty Burell) attempt to have a good day with the teens might not end up as good as they expect it would. According to Realty Today, Claire's excitement for Haley (Sarah Hyland) and Alex (Ariel Winter) to see her do well at her job will not last as the staffs of the creative department shun her creative designs pitches.

Phil on the other hand, spends time with Luke (Nolan Gould) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) in a community service activity, which obviously is a bore chore for the two. But according to the synopsis released by ABC, the three will unexpectedly share a teachable moment in the new episode.

Elsewhere, Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) are once again not on the same page in deciding who among their friends should attend their party. While Gloria (Sofia Vergara) helps them with their dilemma, Jay (Ed O'Neill) is left to help out at Joe's pre-school.

"The Verdict" precedes this year's Halloween episode, which will apparently be a rebroadcast of "Modern Family" season 6's "Halloween 3: AwesomeLand," The Futon Critic wrote. The episode saw Claire allow Phil to take charge on the Halloween party preparation while Gloria and Jay got a Princess Fiona and Prince Charming costumes respectively.

Claire and Phil are set to spend time with the kids in the upcoming episode titled, "The Verdict." Meanwhile, Mitch and Cam will have to settle their party problem with the help of Gloria while Jay babysits Joe.

"Modern Family" season 7 episode 5 airs October 21 on ABC.
