In "Once Upon A Time" season 5 episode 5 titled, "Dreamcatcher," Dark Emma will continue her quest to search for a the rightful hero to help execute her plan. Recently released promotional video for the upcoming episode saw Merida being dragged into the scene by Emma to push Gold into being heroic.

ABC's hit fantasy series is about to delve into the darkness of Emma's new identity in the next episode, "Dreamcatcher." According to Comic Book Movie, the new Dark One continues her search for a hero as she needs one in order to break a curse.

Cartermatt added that Jennifer Morrison's character will be using Merida, played by Amy Manson, to force Robert Carlyle's Rumpelstiltskin to become the hero. If Dark Emma's plan succeeds, she will use Gold to help her reunite the Excalibur with the Dagger. Is there a way to stop the new dark one from executing her plan? The promotional video for "Dreamcatcher" saw Emma effectively playing the big baddie while talking to her son about how things are different this season. Cartermatt also noted that the next episode will give the viewers a glimpse of the things to come in the new season.

OUAT fans should also watch out for Merida's character development in the series, as she will surely have an important role to play in the latter part of season 5 with Jamie Chung's Mulan and Meghan Ory's Ruby.

"Dreamcatcher" follows the last episode of "Once Upon A Time" titled, "The Broken Kingdom," viewers saw Emma fight the voice of Rumpel inside her head, Hypable wrote. Elsewhere, Mary Margaret, played by Ginnifer  Goodwin, takes matter into her own hands after receiving a warning from Sinqua Walls' Lancelot about the real intentions of Liam Garrigan's Arthur.

The previous episode also saw some Camelot flashbacks with Guinevere, played by guest star Joana Metrass, sensing Arthur's obsession with making Excalibur whole, leading her to her quest towards the heart of darkness.

Things are getting darker for the fifth season of "Once Upon A Time." Next week's episode will see Emma use Merida to force Rumpelstiltskin into being the hero that she needs to help her reunite the Excalibur with the Dagger.
