Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are reportedly heading for a divorce just months after they tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony. Speculations suggest that the "The Vampire Diaries" actor is now regretting the marriage as he is now very keen to start a family of their own, but Reed is still focusing on her career.

The newlywed couple Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are reportedly headed for a disaster as the couple is deciding for a divorce. Multiple reports have been flooding the Internet that the couple is splitting since they tied the knot in April. Allegedly, the pair is fighting over Somerhalder's desire to start their own family since his wife Reed is not yet ready to give up her career to have a baby.

According OK! Magazine via Celeb Dirty Laundry, Somerhalder and Reed have been fighting nonstop about their baby plans. The 36-year old actor allegedly keeps on talking about how he wants to have a baby and start his own family with Reed. However, his 27-year old wife refuses to get pregnant this early since she has just recently landed a role in the series "Sleepy Hollow."

"They're arguing a lot. Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now," a source told the magazine. Moreover, Somerhalder was previously very vocal about his plan to have a honeymoon baby with his wife. They have purportedly talked about their baby plans during their honeymoon in Rio.

In fact, previous reports have been pointing out that one of the reasons for the Dobrev-Somerhalder breakup was the actor's desire to start a family. As claimed by International Business Times, Dobrev allegedly did not want to settle down. "Ian was starting to talk marriage while Nina's just getting started on her career," a source told In Touch magazine in 2013. "Nina still loves him but isn't ready to make that huge commitment. She's just too young for Ian."

While the two are said to be in disagreement about their family plans, Reed is still pursuing her acting career. She even landed the role of Betsy Ross in her new series "Sleepy Hollow," Just Jared reported. The actress entered the series in its third season and recently shared updates about the upcoming season of the series with SiriusXM in New York.

Meanwhile, Somerhalder and Reed have yet to comment on the issue on whether or not they are headed for a divorce. But amidst the issue, the couple's supporters are hopeful that the two stars can work things out and find a middle ground between their career and their family.
