Amazon just unveiled their latest gadget, the Amazon Fire HD 10. It is the widest tablet offered by Jeff Bezos's company and it comes with a price tag far cheaper than any other high-end tablet by another manufacturer at $229.

The Kindle is considered as a mid-range kindle by Amazon and it comes with great specs according to SlashGear. The 10.3 x 6.3 x 0.3-inch kindle runs on quad-core MediaTek processor to ensure smooth operation. The processor consists of two 1.5 GHz cores and two 1.2GHz cores. As for storage capacity, the kindle comes with either 16 GB or 32 GB storage with a microSD slot for users that need extra storage. The operating system used for the kindle is the latest Fire OS 5 "Bellini" which is specially designed to cater Amazon users.

As for the connection, Kindle Fire HD 10 support WiFi connection on a/b/g/n/ac dual band and Bluetooth. However, there is no cellular modem available for the device. The kindle also comes with 5MP rear facing camera and HD front camera enabling a user to still use it like a regular tablet. The kindle can also last for 8 hours without charging when different media and apps are run on it.

In terms of value for money, Mashable argue that the device has lots of disadvantage. The most notably is the screen resolution. Kindle runs using 1280 x 800 resolution which means users watching video from it can only expect 720-pixel support instead of the full HD. This is a serious drawback compared to iPad Air 2 and Nexus 9 that runs using 2048 x 1536. However, the Amazon team argue that the kindle has a brighter screen to help users read their favourite e-book outdoor.

Besides screen resolution, TNW News also reported that the new kindle does not ditch the old thick bezels on the screen giving users with 16:10 aspect ratio. While most manufacturers are trying to ditch the black bezels to provide a seamless view, Amazon team stick with it. The feature according to Amazon will help users to enjoy reading without accidentally changing the page.

According to review, the latest kindle did not provide users with an upgrade specification other than a wider screen. However, with a low price tag users can expect a bargain for their money and the new gadget is expected to be more appealing to Amazon fan compared to new users.
