Starting October 6, McDonalds will start serving breakfast the whole day on all their US branches. On Tuesday, all restaurant operators have given their votes to make the move.

The company has been testing the all-day breakfast offer and apparently, it went well.

For a few months, McDonald's has been hearing customers saying how much they wanted to have an Egg McMuffin not only for breakfast but any time of the day. USA Today said that McDonald's has received around 120,000 requests on Twitter for breakfast items to be available the whole day.

However, the company did not immediately respond to these requests due to worries that restaurants will not have sufficient grill space in preparing lunch and breakfast items at the same time. In July, McDonalds told their franchisees that they might offer all-day breakfast items starting October.

Not all their breakfast items will be available but popular items such as Sausage McMuffin, Egg McMuffin and hash browns will be on the menu. Biscuit sandwiches, which are also popular on South, will also be served.

There will be items that will be taken from the menu such as McWraps. This is to ensure that restaurant operators with tight spaces will still comfortably serve both breakfast and lunch at the same time. These items will vary across markets.

McDonald's wanted to share their plans of serving all-day breakfast items through a personal way and this way by tweeting the decision to those customers who expressed their desire to have breakfast items any time of the day.

McDonald seizes this chance to give their brand a boost as the two previous years were not as prosperous for them due to changing customer tastes and competition against other fast food chains.

A McDonald's franchisee, LeAnn Richards, told CNN that restaurant operators will need a dedicated egg griddle in order to allow cooking of eggs, burgers and chicken at the same time. Those that will serve McMuffins will need a toaster. All these changes, according to president Mike Andres of McDonald's USA, will cost from $500 to $5000 for every franchisee but the good news is that McDonald's will share in the payment. Andres did not provide the specifics in the split.
