Hospital firms having partnerships with top medical research facilities are reported to have higher chances of completing takeovers.

Nowadays, hospitals are teaming up with medical research facilities in a bid to easily acquire latest medical treatments and improve their business image.

Community hospitals are also looking for innovative ways of how they can be perceived by patients aside from the price they can get.

The enactment of U.S. President Barack Obama's healthcare reform in 2010 opened room for greater number of consolidations and deals for hospitals, according to data from Thompson Reuters.

LifePoint Hospitals partnered with Duke University Health System in 2011, creating a new joint venture called Duke LifePoint Healthcare, which has acquired five hospitals including DLP Cardiac Partners in Charlotte, North Carolina and Marquette General Health System in Michigan.

Partnerships in Hospitals are accounted to the need to have protection against increasing costs and government lower reimbursement fees.
