'Kong: Skull Island' has just cast Jason Mitchell and Toby Kebbell to star alongside Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson. The upcoming film is also speculated to be a sequel to director Peter Jackson's 2005 remake.

In an article by The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that rising star Jason Mitchell is currently in negotiations with Legendary Pictures to join Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson on a fictional quest to the island of Kong's origins. Inside sources hinted that Mitchell's role will be that of an "easygoing pilot". The young actor is best known for his portrayal of Eazy-E in the N.W.A. biopic 'Straight Outta Compton'.

Little may be known of the 'Kong: Skull Island' but it was suggested that the movie will focus on another team of explorers journeying to the titular island known as the home of the biggest and angriest ape. The characters will explore the mysterious jungles of the island further and come across more shocking revelations.

Not to be left behind, Toby Kebbell of 'Fantastic Four' fame was also said to be in talks to join the cast for Jordan Vogt-Roberts' follow-up film. Audiences may find him familiar as he recently portrayed Dr. Doom in the newest reboot of the Marvel superhero team-up, according to Screen Crush. Kebbell will also star in Legendary's own 'Warcraft' live-action adaptation as Durotan as well as in 'Ben-Hur'.

According to Flickering Myth, the movie's description was revealed for its casting call way ahead of the scheduled filming on October this year. The report stated a plot line that points towards events that take place after the first reboot's theatrical release 10 years ago that starred Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody and Andy Serkis.

It stated that the sequel would take place years after the first - after Kong's death and disappearance - where the American showman Carl Denham's son finds himself in the very same treacherously mysterious island his own father had an adventure on.

'Kong: Skull Island' is the second film in the 'King Kong' series reboot set to open in theaters on March 10, 2017. The creature feature franchise centered on a colossal gorilla was first created in 1933 and became a worldwide hit since then.
