A new Batman stand-alone film is in the works and might even be extended into becoming a trilogy. Although fans look forward to seeing Affleck as the Caped Crusader in his own film, director Zack Snyder revealed that creating the film can be challenging.

According to Den of Geek, a cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was screened for the film's crew, and the bosses of Warner Bros and later garnered positive comments and even got a standing ovation.  Warner bosses said to have been impressed by Ben Affleck's portrayal of the Caped Crusader and would like to seal a "Golden Deal" with him.

The said "Golden Deal" will be an extension of Batman's stand-alone, making it a trilogy instead of a single feature. Rumors further intensified when Affleck's Live by Night and The Accountant's release dates were pushed for a couple of months later.  However, according to Screen Rant, WB already sealed their films to their respective schedules and thus will likely stick to their plan.

Meanwhile, although seeing Batman in his stand alone film excite a lot of DC Fans, Batman v Superman director, Zack Snyder shared how challenging making it can be. As reported by We Got This Covered, Snyder said that after Christopher Nolan's work in his Batman Trilogy, making a film that will center on Gotham's hero  can bring much pressure to its director.

"If it was a Batman movie it would be a much more difficult proposition because of how good Chris' movies are. We live in gratitude to those movies." Snyder said.

"Chris set a tone for the DC Universe and separated us from Marvel in a great way. We are the legacy of those movies. Right from the beginning it is different tonally from where those movies are. You know, DC is an ancient world in a lot of ways," he added.

Ben Affleck is set to star and direct the upcoming Batman stand-alone film, which he is also set to co-write with Geoff Johns. It is set to be released in theaters some time in 2019. More details about the upcoming film are expected in the coming months.
