"Prometheus 2" the second film jumping off where the first "Prometheus" left off in 2012. 20th Century Fox wants to continue with Director Blomkamp's "Alien 5" but saw Ridley Scott's suggestion of having "P2" being in the works first.

Geek reports that they got the info of "Prometheus 2" being worked on first upon the demand of Director Ridley Scott. The "Alien 5" would be next which is clearly being backed up by Fox studios. Shooting will start on the first quarter of 2016 and is said to intend to hit theaters on 2017. Reports say that "Prometheus" is somewhat related with the events of "Alien" only that the events of the former happens prior to the latter. P1 was said to have earned $400 million globally which has 'business-wise' encouraged the making of P2.

NME gives Neill Blomkamp's side as "Prometheus 2" which will be directed by Ridley Scott will be under way prior to Blomkamp's directing of "Alien 5." Blomkamp has directed the films such as "Elysium" and "District 9." Additional data shows the delay may be justifiable as a source say that Neill is still continuing to work on the script and refining the storybooks. The year 2017 will be the kickoff for the production and is expected to be shown in 2018.

Metro further puts circumstances into good light for the delayed production of "Alien 5." This will also enable him to work in accordance to Sigourney Weaver's availability. Weaver is Alien's lead cast since but is somehow busy working on another production for another sequel of James Cameron's "Avatar."

"Prometheus 2" story plot continues on with Noomi Rapace starring as Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender playing as David. Both Shaw and David travel to a planet of alien origin to try and uncover the reason behind the desire of its inhabitants to annihilate the human race.

Director Scott Ridley's decision on delaying the production of "Alien 5" after "Prometheus 2" may give much needed time for Director Blomkamp. Citing the reasons for giving "P2" priority in production 20th Century Fox backed up the prioritization of Scott Ridley without having to let go of Blomkamp's project.
