A "Naruto" live action movie will possibly happen soon. After the success of the animated "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" in Japan despite the leaks online, Lionsgate has already tapped some people to be on the production team for a live action "Naruto" movie including Michael Gracey as the director.

However, it is not confirmed whether it is for a "Boruto: Naruto The Movie." It is sure though that Lionsgate is on the process of negotiations to lock the film rights for the manga created by Masashi Kishimoto.

In spite of the leakage of "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" full online, prior to its release on 600 theaters in Japan on August 7, the animated film has been thriving. Reports say that it has hit a blockbuster success with around $5.46 million during the first three days of screening, granting it the highest grossing opening of the series and surpassing "The Last: Naruto the Movie." It has already earned a total of ¥2.02 billion or $16.8 million.

Manga creator Masashi Kishimoto is responsible for major aspects of the movie. He has written the script, in charge of character designs and the chief production supervisor for the film.

Viz Media will bring the film in selected American cinemas on the same date of Naruto's birthday, October 10. This will probably become a huge celebration for Naruto fans in the U.S., as the movie is also in celebration of the franchise's 15th anniversary.

The "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" follows the rebellious Boruto, the young son of Naruto, who is the Seventh Hokage of the Konoha village. Boruto aims to go beyond his father's abilities and to become a far greater shinobi. Naruto's greatest friend and rival Sasuke eventually becomes Boruto's sensei. Boruto, and Sasuke's daughter, Sarada, a talented yet mysterious shinobi, train to become the next generation of ninjas. Together they try to rescue Naruto, who's trapped in another dimension.

Fans of the Naruto franchise are excited to see a love version of the successful movie. Meanwhile, a sequel is rumored to be on queue for development as major premises were not concluded in "Boruto: Naruto The Movie."
