In just a few more months, movie fans will finally witness the Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens in the big screen. However, contrary to previous reports, no footage or clips will be featured in the upcoming San Diego Comic Con but new comers to the series might be present to explain more about their characters. Han Solo is said to get a standalone film to be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord.

Star Wars fans might not like this news, but reports have it, that no footage or clips will be released in the upcoming Comic Con. However, many suggest that this is due to the fact that Disney will be having its own expo, the D23, this August.

But even without clips or footages, cast members are said to attend to the event. Although, the identities of the attendees have not been revealed yet and the only hint indicated was that "several actors" were going to the event, reports also suggest that newcomers to the franchise might attend. One of them could be Domhnall Gleeson who'd be revealing more about his character.

Meanwhile, another Star Wars news has been revealed indicating that one of the hero characters in the franchise will be getting his own standalone film. A film about Han Solo is said to be in the works and will be released in May 2018. The film's story is reported to center on the younger Han Solo and his experiences and how he became a smuggler, thief, and scoundrel.

It is set to be directed by "The Lego Movie" directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord. "This is the first film we've worked on that seems like a good idea to begin with. We promise to take risks, to give the audience a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us," they said in a statement.

"This is a dream come true for us. And not the kind of dream where you're late for work and all your clothes are made of pudding, but the kind of dream where you get to make a film with some of the greatest characters ever, in a film franchise you've loved since before you can remember having dreams at all," they added.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens cast includes Gwendoline Christie, Mark Hamill,Oscar Isaac, and Harrison Ford and directed by JJ Abrams. Look for the movie in theaters in December 18, 2015.
