Mass Effect 4 will not be the actual name of the next installation, but rather will be called "Andromeda." The title's development director shares an interesting story about how this name came to be - as well as what it could have been. At the same time, the protagonist of the said title will become a human, as opposed to some robot or creature like some fans were made to believe during the Electronic Entertainment Expo reveal.

According to a recent report from AttackoftheFanBoy, the name of Mass Effect: Andromeda could have very well been Mass Effect Beyond. This was shared through the official Twitter account of Chris Wynn, who is the Senior Development Director for the title. For those who follow the Star Trek series of films, they would be aware that the next one would have the same name - "Star Trek Beyond."

Wynn commented on the incident, saying, "We almost used the same name, that would have been awkward." In the same manner, BioWare, the game's developer, thought that the sound of the supposed title was actually horrible. This became an absolute reason to just not go with it.

The report noted that the term "Beyond" actually has a mainstream feel to it where it is also used in other names like Beyond: Two Souls as well as Batman Beyond. Nonetheless, it makes more sense to call the next game Mass Effect: Andromeda because of the new galaxy as the setting. In the same way, this will detach it from the original trilogy as its plot does not have a connection.

As a recap for what was revealed in the E3 press conference, another report noted what Bioware said about the game. It went, when talking about the character to use, "You will play a human, male or female, though that's actually not the character you saw in the trailer."

Mass Effect 4, which got the title "Andromeda" will feature an all new and exciting gameplay for fans. Changes ought to be expected as the plot entails neither a sequel nor a prequel. A specific release has yet to be announced, but the game is thought to be for the PS4, the Xbox One, as well as the PC.
