A new ZenFone 2 is likely to be released by ASUS soon, in addition to the eight ZenFone 2 smartphones that the tech maker has distributed worldwide. The device, which was spotted at import-export website Zauba.com, has a model number X551ML and shipped to India for testing.

Available ZenFone 2 Features

The available ASUS ZenFone 2 features screen resolution options from 720p up to 1080p; processing power, RAM specification from 2GB to 4GB; and storage choices of 16GB up to 128GB. The device supports Android 5.0 Lollipop, and is packed with 3000 mAh battery and a camera combination of 13+5MP, just like other ZoneFone 2 smartphones. Their price ranges from ₹12,999 to ₹29,999, depending on specs chosen.

Spotted ZenFone 2

Its model number which starts in X is one noticeable difference from its sibling device variants. What's interesting is that its model number is almost identical with Zenfone 2 with model ZE551ML. With that, it might possibly feature a Snapdragon processor, if not the same ZE551ML variant.

The ZenFone 2 with model ZE551ML has a 5.5-inch screen display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution. It  is powered by a 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor, and it supports Android 5.0 Lollipop. The smartphone sports a 4GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage.

Zenfone Selfie vs. Zenfone 2

Speaking of similarity in specs, the newly launched ASUS ZenFone Selfie shares most of the features found in the flagship ZenFone 2. The smartphone sports the same 5.5 inch screen size with 1080 x 1920 resolution display. It also uses 13-megapixel rear camera and a 3000mAh battery.

The Zenfone Selfie is powered by Qualcomm's 64 bit octa core Snapdragon 615 chipset and has Android 5.0 Lollipop on board. Storage capacity is 2GB worth of RAM and 16GB of internal storage memory. A 64GB microSD card can be used to expand the device's internal memory.

Except for the 13mp front camera, the ZenFone Selfie's features are similar with the flagship ZenFone 2. Other camera features of the ZenFone Selfie device are the Beautification mode and the Panorama mode. With the latter feature, device users can capture panoramic selfies of up to 140 degrees.

The spotted ZenFone 2 with model number X551ML has a unit price of ₹29,970. Given that price, this device will most likely be released under a higher-end smartphone category.
